How is AFC Urgent Care different from an Emergency Room?

As an urgent care center we treat medical conditions that do not pose an immediate threat to your health or life. If your medical issue is life-threatening or extremely severe, call 911, or go directly to a hospital emergency room without wasting time. If not, an urgent care center such as ours offers a far more cost-effective solution for treating acute conditions.

What kinds of illnesses/injuries do you treat?

We treat all types of injuries and acute illnesses that are not life-threatening -  everything from coughs and sniffles to burns, lacerations and fractures, and much more.  We have on site x-ray and rapid lab capabilities that allow us to diagnose and begin treatment right away for most conditions.

What kind of doctor will treat me?

At AFC Urgent Care, all patients are seen and treated by board-certified physicians specialized in providing urgent care to patients of all ages, typically two years and older.

What insurance plans do you accept?

We accept most major insurance plans , including individual plans offered under the Affordable Care Act (ACA).  Please click here for details.

If I have insurance, will I get a bill after my visit?

That depends on the benefits covered under your specific plan. After we bill your insurance for your visit, they will send you and us an explanation of benefits (EOB) which will show how they have processed the claim based on our contracted rates and your plan features, including co-pays, co-insurance and deductibles.  If there is an unpaid balance after your insurer pays, then we will send you a bill for the amount owed.

What does it cost for patients without insurance?

If you do not have insurance, our discounted self-pay charge for an office visit is $135. If the doctor sees the need for any additional treatment (e.g. an x-ray, lab test, nebulizer, injection), s/he will discuss the situation and cost with you before any additional charge is incurred.

What are your hours of operation?

Our center is normally open 7 days a week from 8am to 8pm on weekdays and 8am to 5pm on weekends.  On the rare occasion when we need to modify our operating hours due to weather, we post alerts and updates on our Home page, on our Facebook page, and via Twitter.

Do I have to make an appointment?

No, we operate as a walk-in facility, so you can come in any time during our normal business hours and be seen by a physician without a long wait.

Where are you located?

We are located at 128 Columbia Turnpike in Florham Park.  Click here for directions, and look for a 2-story light brick building as you approach the area, as the Borough of Florham Park does not allow for prominent signage on medical office buildings.
